Gay night ibiza

gay night ibiza
Ibiza is a clubbers and hedonists paradise and if that doesn't attract gay and people of all other sexual orientations, we don't know what does. There's so much more to it than that though. Ibiza had one of the first organised, if clandestine, gay scenes in Spain in the 60's — in short the island has a long history with gay culture as you will see when you walk around the Gay and LGBTQIA area in Ibiza Town. As well as a very good dedicated gay scene, you'll find that many places are mixed : here sexual orientation is pretty much a non-issue.
When dropouts and hippies began to discover Ibiza for themselves in the s, no one would have guessed that the Balearic island would soon become one of Europe's most popular summer travel destinations. Today, more than two million tourists come to the island every year and the population has more than quadrupled since the s: , people now live on the island, about a third of them in the capital Eivissa Ibiza Town. Official languages are Catalan the predominant accent on the island is called eivissenc and Castilian Spanish. The first tourists came to the island as early as the s — before the Spanish Civil War and the long years of Franco's dictatorship —, including intellectuals such as the cultural critic Walter Benjamin, the Dadaist artist Raoul Hausmann, the architect Le Corbusier and Bauhaus founder Walter Gropius.
Ibiza is well-regarded for its inclusive nature and for the outlandish shows it puts on every summer. Big, bold glamour and extravagance have their place at many parties, where dazzling outfits and sparkling personalities are celebrated and admired. While there may not be any exclusively gay clubs nights or parties, there are many options that swing that way, encouraging the expression of fierceness and flamboyance, with a little extra hot sauce added when needed. The island really is a garden of delights waiting to be discovered, and the clubbing scene is just one big party, where everyone is welcome to find their own place on the dancefloor.
As we've said previously, Ibiza generally is very gay and LGBTQIA friendly , so you will feel welcome in each bar or restaurant, wherever you are on the island. Countless small bars, restaurants, boutiques and fetish shops line the cobbled lane lit by fairy lights, while drag queens try to lure you into their establishments and the sound of excited voices fills the air. It's so narrow that you can't help but make contact with others. On the large terraces and roof terraces a colourful crowd shows off in their most extravagant finery.
